Google Cast for Education is a free Chrome extension that allows students and teachers to share their screens wirelessly from anywhere in the classroom. Cast for Education has built-in controls for teachers, and works seamlessly with Google Classroom.

To earn your badge, follow these steps:

  1. Attach an image of a student screen casted to the projector
    • NOTE: Do not copy and paste the image. Scroll down and click “Choose file” to browse to the image on your computer
  2. Write a brief description of how Cast for Education was used to enhance your lesson.

  • This tool allows students to  use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways.
  • This tool allows students to evaluate the accuracy, perspective, credibility and relevance of information, media, data or other resources.
  • This tool allows students to use digital tools to connect with learners from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, engaging with them in ways that broaden mutual understanding and learning.
  • This tool allows students to engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices.
  • This tool allows students to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively by creating or using a variety of digital objects such as visualizations, models or simulations.
  • If the teacher casts their screen on the SmartBoard during instruction
  • If the teacher casts their screen to a student screen to individualize instruction during a lesson
  • If students explain their learning while their screen is cast
  • If students compare their thoughts and analyze the accuracy, perspective, and credibility to the screen being cast
