Breakout EDU brings the 4 Cs alive! All Breakout EDU games require critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication.”

Breakout EDU allows you to easily recreate a breakout room in your classroom with a fraction of the prep time. This engaging pedagogical activity ensures that content meets high expectations of critical thinking, ensures collaboration, and inspires creative thinking. It engages students from beginning to end. Breakout EDU can be as cheap as free or as expensive as $150. It can be analog or digital. You can use pre-made ones or design your own. Free pre-made content and games are all over the Internet.

Breakout EDU is inspired by Escape Rooms, like at EscapeCape. Escape Rooms can give inspiration for Breakout EDU boxes. You are not always limited to the box. Think outside of the box. Below are several resources for designing Breakout EDU activities.

Designing a Digital Breakout EDU

There are couple different ways to do a digital escape room. First is using the Breakout EDU website which contains pre-made and a way to create custom Breakouts on their amazing platform. The other is to use Google Forms to create digital locks.

Breakout EDU can also teach students to create and find solutions and to navigate those problems with IF THIS THEN THAT thinking, the design and computational skills necessary for our students’ future success.
